Employment

Heritage is currently accepting applications for a variety of positions for the 2022-2023 school year. First, please email your resumé and cover letter to Dean of Students, Gail Holman, at gail@heritagestx.org. Once resumé and cover letter are received, candidates will be instructed to complete the online Employment Application.

Teacher

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of teaching experience are strongly preferred, with exceptions granted for outstanding candidates with demonstrated teaching gifts and call
  • Teacher Certification required
  • Academic Language Therapy training preferred, but not required
  • Ability to teach well, as demonstrated by references and student achievement
  • Mastery of subject matters to be taught, as demonstrated by references, education, and student achievement

Personal Qualities

  • Credible profession of repentance and faith in Jesus Christ
  • Membership or regular attendance at a local church
  • Views teaching as a high calling
  • Self-educator and lifetime learner
  • Understanding of and agreement with the mission, philosophy, and pedagogy of Heritage School of Texas
  • Teachable and committed to grow, learn, and develop new understanding and skills
  • Understanding of and ability to articulate biblical worldview
  • Ability to integrate biblical worldview into all subject matters to be studied
  • Heart for elementary-school aged children, ability to interact with and lead children, strong desire to see children learn well, to know God, and to love God

Teacher’s Aide

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Special Education Certified preferred however experience in Special Education considered
  • Two years of teaching experience are strongly preferred, with exceptions granted for outstanding candidates with demonstrated teaching gifts and call
  • Ability to teach well, as demonstrated by references and student achievement
  • Mastery of subject matters to be taught, as demonstrated by references, education, and student achievement

Personal Qualities

  • Godly character (pastoral and other character references may be required)
  • Membership or regular attendance at a local church
  • Gift of teaching
  • Views teaching as a high calling
  • Self-educator and lifetime learner
  • Well-spoken, with excellent grammar, diction, and vocabulary
  • Understanding of and agreement with the mission, philosophy, and pedagogy of Heritage School of Texas, including classical framework and Charlotte Mason influence
  • Teachable and committed to grow, learn, and develop new understanding and skills
  • Understanding of and ability to articulate biblical worldview
  • Ability to integrate biblical worldview into all subject matters to be studied
  • Maturity and emotional stability
  • Heart for elementary-school aged children, ability to interact with and lead children, strong desire to see children learn well, to know God, and to love God
